Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection ( ICSI )
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) refers to the laboratory procedure that involves injecting a single sperm that is picked up with a fine glass needle is injected directly into the egg.
In this process, the embryologist removes the follicle cell surrounding the egg using a medicated enzyme solution. A matured egg is then used in this process and is held by gentle suction in a glass pipette. A glass microneedle is used to inject the single sperm into the innermost part of the egg or cytoplasm.
